Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33)

This principle in Matthew 6:33 is the key to the kingdom. If you wake us in the morning and God’s kingdom is not first in your heart, then you are in danger of forfeiting the promised rewards for putting Him first. This principle reflects whether a Christian has Jesus as their Lord or whether their faith is nominal. A nominal Christian can wake up any old way, but a committed Christian seeks Him first no matter what the circumstances.
Prayer: LORD, I commit myself this day to living according to Matthew 6:33. Forgive me for any failure in the past. My life can be better and realize its potential if I can trust this promise and receive the reward on a daily basis. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
